The lyrics in the song is all based in the depth of how it feels to be hurt my your partner, the person you love, the person you'd do anything for. Hurt in the manner of him cheating with someone else.

Ashanti sings out how she may of had doubts at time towards her partner, but she loved him so much she didn't allow herself to believe that he would hurt her.

When I was deciding what to do for my Media course - Soap trailer or Music video.

I wanted something in-between both - therefore when I came across this song, I knew it would be perfect.

The dramatic and passionate words and vocals would mesh perfectly with a dramatic story line.

I used a green screen to demonstrate how I used this specific convention to make my music video professional.

Why I chose Ashanti - The Way That I Love You - (Background information in the industry)

Whilst deciding which song I want to use, I researched into female solo artists in the Hip hop and Rnb industry.
I came across many artists such as;

- Beyonce
- Keyisha Cole
- Kelly Rowland
- Nicki Minaj
- Amerie
- Cassie
And so on.. Until I finally chose Ashanti.
The reason behind why I chose Ashanti was because there are meanings behind her music.
For example my songs choice - The Way That I Love You (Her partner cheated on her)
Another example - Foolish (Her partner never puts her first and doesn't treat her well - but she always takes him back.)

Ashanti is classed at 'The Princess of RnB', and the reason behind this I would say is because of the stories behind her music. Through music Ashanti expresses her feelings and demonstrates to all women how music is a way of letting out feeling and emotions - when one is happy or unhappy.

In contrast to other female artists - they choose to sell themselves to men in their videos and through their music. For instance -
